chicken thief! - jm @ 7:58 PM

My parents was telling me a funny story today, it involves them back in 'those days'.

Well, they were raised in a country where poverty was a major problem and their story shows this clearly. WHat happened was, it was around this time of the year, where it's a major praying date in terms of the buddhist religion. People would bring chicken and ducks [cooked that is] as well as fruits to worship the gods.

My dad told me that, when he was a kid, there was this old lady who placed all those foods onto the table as an offering to the gods. She then knelt down, prayed and then did the traditionall three bows. However, she did the first bow, looked up to the gods [in this case statues] and...DUNDUNDUN on the plate which was occupied with the chicken...HAD NOW DISAPPEARED! LAWL! She quickly jumped up, screaming, "WHERE'S MY CHICKENN?" and my dad, who witnessed this event, told me that there were three kids running away with the chicken, and she was trying to chase after them x]. Hilarious...

Why did my dad remember this? Well, it happened to my aunty just recently LOL. She went to pray, and this time, it was at her very own house. She placed all the offerings on the table, prayed and then went upstairs to grab something else. When she went back down stairs..her fruitful table..was now only occupied with..fruits x]. All the meats had disappeared. Hence, leaving htem meatless for their dinner since in those countries, meat is very expensive x].

My dad joked around and said that the chickens could fly x].

Anyways, something short =] ciao for now! jm
